The Lakshya Bhartee Foundation (Delhi) organized “Eyes & Ears” Camp at Agrasen Bhawan, Junagarh in Kalahandi district of Odisha on 13th Feb 2014. Dr. Bijaya Ketan Upadhyaya, IAS, District Magistrate and Collector of Kalahandi inaugurated the camp.

We had a hugely successful camp with more than 1300 patients visiting the camp. Around 500 glasses were distributed. More than 1000 persons were given free medicine. 128 hearing aids were given to the needy. 313 patients were selected for cataract surgery.

On this occasion, 11 eminent personalities of Kalahandi namely Smt. BijayLaxmi Kandpan (NAC Chairperson), Sri Dilip Nayak (IIC), Sri Trilochan Mohanty (BDO), Dr. Umakant Panda, Sri Nirmal Kumar Mohanty, Sri Bed Prakash Goel, Sri Partha Mahalik, Sri Bajrang Lal Khemka, Sri Sripati Thakur, Sri Trilochan Singh Beldar and Smt. Mamata Barad were felicitated by The LBF.

Sri Satya Bhusan Jain, Patron, Tara Sansthan was present along with a team of experts.

The LBF is thankful to Paradip Port Trust, Odisha for supporting this noble cause by distributing 100 hearing aids and 200 glasses to needy patients under it’s CSR activities. Special thanks to Sri S. S. Mishra, IRTS, Chairman, PPT for thinking about the poor and needy of Kalahandi.

According to Dr. Kamal Kumar, Secretary, The LBF, “It is in continuation of our efforts to reach to the poorest of the poor in the society”. This is the second camp in series after the Polio-related Camp in January 2012.
